Bath time has become one of my favorite ways to relax after a long day. I never really appreciated them until I injured my back so badly I could barely move. My chiropractor and acupuncturist ordered that I start taking epsom salt baths regularly. Being the good patient that I am (and also hurting so bad I was willing to do anything), I set aside time in my evening to take an hour long bath at least twice a week. For a woman who couldn’t care less about baths for the majority of her life, I can now shamelessly admit that I am a converted bath junkie.
Over the past couple of years, I have come to rely on a few essential items for my bath time retreats. Of course, you don’t need any of these things to have a relaxing bath, but they sure do up the ante! These are my must-have bath products for ultimate “me time” relaxation:

Bath Bombs
Bath bombs have become one of my absolute favorite things. My ultimate favorite bombs are from Lush. They are natural and smell freaking amazing. But they are a little pricey. I just recently discovered these bombs from Miss A and have read really good things about them. AND, they only cost a dollar or two a piece! WHAT?! I’m seriously ordering 20 of them RIGHT NOW.
Epsom Salt
This stuff is amazeballs. I use the unscented kind in every bath, then I’ll add a bath bomb for “flavor” and fun. Epsom salt is full of magnesium which helps your muscles relax and heal. It’s incredibly relaxing and really good for you. Bonus, you can get a ginormous bag of it on Amazon for C-H-E-A-P.
Bathtub Caddy
This caddy is the best thing ever invented. It has a place for your phone, a tablet or iPad or book, soap, a glass of wine (essential), among other things. I have to admit that I have gotten lost in an episode or two of Handmaid’s Tale while bathing because of this handy caddy.
Drain Cover
There’s nothing worse than relaxing in a bath that’s aaaalllmost up to your chin when suddenly you hear that awful draining noise and all your magic bath water starts getting drained away. I mean, I get why bathtub makers put those stupid drain thingies in the tub, but COME ON! We’re all adults here! Sometimes a girl just wants to soak in a tub with water up to her eyeballs, mmmkay? Anyway, I circumvent these clever tub makers and their silly drains with this handy drain cover. Worth every penny.
Bath Pillow
My tub is pretty comfy without a pillow. But having a pillow makes it even more luxurious. This pillow is my favorite because it is quick drying and has super strong suction cups. I could literally nap in my tub with this thing.
Bath Soak
Bath soaks are pretty amazing. Sometimes I prefer these over bath bombs simply because they are so decadent. One of my favorites is this Coconut Cream Bath Soak by Farmhouse Fresh. It’s divine. I also found a CBD infused bath soak and am itching to try it. I am a huge advocate of CBD products and this After Flow CBD Bath Soak is a soak I would happily spend my money on.
Bubble Bath
Sometimes, I’d rather have a tub full of bubbles than a soak or a bomb. If that’s what I’m feeling for the evening, I will reach for either this Deep Steep Chamomile & Lavender Bubble Bath or Kneipp Red Poppy and Hemp Bubble Bath. Both smell incredible, but the lavender is the one that I prefer when I need a bit of help trying to get to sleep. So soothing!
Bluetooth Shower Speaker
When I’m not in the mood to read, or I’d rather just browse Instagram or Pinterest in my bath, I’ll connect my Spotify playlist to this versatile bluetooth shower speaker. I love using this thing in the bath, but it’s also great for shower singing. It’s waterproof and the sound is pretty impressive!
Himalayan Salt Lamp
Whether or not you believe in the many purported health benefits of Himalayan salt lamps, there is no denying that it is a soothing, low-light addition to your bath time routine.
Candles
I absolutely adore bathing by candlelight. Of course, I have to have a lot of candles because I also love to read in the bath. Usually, I will burn one wonderfully scented candle and several others that have no scent. This particular candle from Homesick candles is on my Christmas List! A few of my other favorites are the Volcano Candle by Capri Blue and Orange Vanilla by Trapp Fragrances.
Face Mask
Sometimes the only time I have to do a face mask is when I’m bathing. It’s a luxury I rarely have time for. This pink clay mask by Sand & Sky has a cult following and people swear by it. This one is in my cart on Amazon right now!
Lotion
After you get out of the bath, you need to seal in that deep hydration with a natural, amazing-smelling body lotion. My absolute favorite lotions come from Farmhouse Fresh. I cannot live without these amazing, hydrating lotions. And I’m not alone. This company has won some incredible awards and been featured in major magazines for a few years now. They have a growing cult following. A few of my favorite scents are the Coconut Cream Shea Butter and the Rainbow Road Shea Butter.

I love these bath soak recipes! I can’t wait to try them. Have you ever tried Well-Scent essential oils? They are wonderful. I definitely recommend giving them a try.
