In case you wanted to send me a card (awww, thanks!), January 24th is my birthday. Naturally, like any other woman, that means I spend the entire month of January finding excuses to celebrate myself. Because I’m awesome and why not? And because my mom still asks me for a birthday list (she also requests a Santa list every year from her grown-ass children. I love her.) I’ve thought I would share some of the amazing things I’ve either got on my list this year or have already received and ADORE. Cue Julie Andrews singing “brown paper packages tied up with string” because these are a few of MY favorite things:

aerie–Okay, so I have a slight obsession with aerie. And by slight, I mean it borders on madness. I have about 85 pairs of their undies and probably as many bras, not to mention soft sweatshirts, yoga pants, and jogger pants. aerie is my all-time favorite pretty, simple, feminine, affordable, every day intimate wear brand. I asked for a gift card for my birthday because I’m pretty sure I need a few dozen more pretty, lacy things.

Scotch–I love scotch. It has been my drink of choice for several years now. I first fell in love with it while over in Scotland during law school. A nice gentleman asked, in his sexy brogue, “Where are ye from, lass?” I replied, “Texas” because Texas is pretty much it’s own country and needs no further explanation, and he responded, “Och, aye? Well nae wonder ye bring out t’sunshine wi’ yer smile!” Then he bought me a scotch and we chatted some more and I have NO IDEA what else he said but I said, “I love you. Marry me.” Not really, but I wanted to. Anyway, since that day, I have loved scotch and this Glenmorangie Lasanta is my favorite affordable scotch. If you’ve never tried it, hie thee to the nearest liquor store and buy some. You’re welcome.

Volcano Candle–y’all, if this isn’t the best smelling candle on the planet, I don’t know what is. This is the candle that is always burning when I walk into Anthropologie and every time I walk in there angels start singing. So clearly I wanted my house to be full of heavenly scents and sounds so I keep this candle burning constantly. It is heaven in jar. Seriously, go buy one. I’ll wait.

Kendra Scott–What I love about Kendra Scott is that it is beautifully designed, well crafted and I get to indulge in one piece of jewelry at half price during my birthday month. Did you know they offered that discount? I take FULL ADVANTAGE every year and buy myself something pretty. This year I think I’ll be buying a necklace, but these gorgeous earrings are also calling my name. So. Many. Choices.

Kut from Kloth–this is my favorite brand of jeans in the history of ever. They are so comfortable and really well made. I have been in these jeans in literally all sizes (because I dropped 30 pounds in a year so I had to buy pretty much every damn size) and at every size these jeans fit well and were super comfy. I will now go out of my way to find these jeans when I’m in the market. Also, if you do Stitch Fix, you can request this brand. Every time they send me a pair I always keep them. LOVE.

Simple Modern Tumbler–I do not drink enough water. I also have carried around a water bottle with me every day for the past several years. And yet, I still don’t drink enough water. It’s a problem, y’all. I’m trying to fix it and this here tumbler is a good way for me to start. It’s so pretty, isn’t it? Who wouldn’t want to drink water out of that? I love that it is stainless steel and double insulated so my water stays cold. I also love that it has a straw because I am physically incapable of drinking water without a straw evidently. I have two of these puppies in different ombre colors and I love them!

Himalayan Salt Lamp–I’ve been reading a lot of articles about the benefits of Himalayan salt lamps in your home. And since I love all things cozy and hippie and hygge, I am totally on board for adding more of it in my life. I have a salt lamp in my bedroom and I love the vibe, not to mention all the other good things, it brings. I’m about to get a few more to put in the other rooms of my house, including the kids because, damn, they need all the good vibes they can get. Can I get an amen, mamas?

Whiskey & Yoga Shirt–my sister and bro-in-law got me this shirt for Christmas. They found it in a trendy little store off of Congress in Austin. I’m pretty sure there has never been a shirt more appropriate for me. It wear it all the time because it’s soft and it’s a walking billboard for my two most favorite things: alcohol and yoga. (Kidding. Kinda. Not really. Let’s be honest.)

Yoga Mat Bag–speaking of yoga, I am totally in love. I started taking a class a week a few months ago and now I am taking three classes a week and would take more if I could find the time. The thing is, I usually run or lift weights before I go do yoga so I have to drag a lot of crap with me to the gym. This bag would be AMAZING for helping with that. I am putting this bag on my list with a few big asterisks next to it. Mom, are you reading? Hint, hint.
