Here we are on Week 3 of the Spring One Room Challenge and, once again, I find myself surprised by how quickly the weeks fly by during these challenges! Luckily, I made some great progress on my powder room makeover this week so I’m feeling pretty good about how everything’s coming together.
Last weekend I spent a majority of nap time and bed time (because I measure everything by the time my children spend in bed) painting ALL THE SURFACES of the “murder bathroom.” Let me refresh your memory as to the hideousness of the “before” that was my blood-red powder room:
Scary, right? So, this weekend I was all too happy to erase that eyesore from my life once and for all. I started by painting the ceiling because, frankly, it sucked the most. But I only needed two coats of this ceiling paint and, like magic, the room started to feel much less like the scene of a crime.
After the ceiling was dry, I went to work painting the rest of the walls and by the end of the weekend, I was high as a kite on paint fumes, but my bathroom had been transformed! Here’s a sneak peek:
SO. MUCH. BETTER! I swear, just by painting the room a light, bright neutral, it feels 10X bigger. Even if paint was the only thing I did to make over this room, I would feel like I accomplished something huge because the impact the paint makes is that strong.
Anyway, because I’m impatient, I immediately hung a thing on the only wall that’s somewhat finshed just so I could see how it looked. I found the basket ladder at Hobby Lobby as well as the funny little sign. I just love fun little signs in a guest bathroom, especially if it’s got a vintage vibe like this one! Am I the only one that loves to decorate with cute little signs?
Well, if you have a thing for cute/funny/punny signs in a guest bath, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites from around the internet. Which one is your favorite?

Stay tuned next week for the feature wall sneak peek (I’m super excited about this part!) and don’t forget to check out all the other participant’s projects over at the One Room Challenge home page!
The new paint looks great! Sometimes it really can open up a room. And I love that sign – too cute. 🙂

We are going to be painting a couple of rooms this year. Paint bring new life to any room really fast. Love the ladder hanging and all the cute items filling it up.
That wall art is great! Those are my two favorites ways to update a room too-paint and art! Good luck for the rest of ORC 🙂
Oh my gosh that red.. yikes! It looks so much better already! Can’t wait to see the whole makeover.
It’s amazing what paint can do!!
Love this! I’ve been thinking of re-doing our half bath and needed ideas! This turned out really cute!
