Oh my goodness, y’all. I’ve been working my little tail off for the past couple of weeks trying to get my house ready for this Christmas house tour! If you’ve landed here from my friend Kristen’s blog, Maison Mass, WELCOME! Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoy our tour.
Let me fill you in if you are new to my little corner of the blogosphere. My name is Cheyenne and I am the brains (or lack thereof) here at Sense & Serendipity. At the end of October I suddenly and unexpectedly lost my husband to a massive heart attack. He was 36 and we have two small children. As you can imagine, losing my love and best friend has rocked our world. I very seriously thought about cancelling my involvement in this home tour but in the end, I had more reasons to go through with it than not. First, continuing with this tour gave me something to focus on during a very difficult time. I am the type of person that needs to stay busy, so having a long to-do list has helped me to “just keep swimming.” Second, and most importantly, I knew that I owed it to my two sweet babies to make this Christmas just as magical as I would have done if their Daddy were still alive. They deserve to have a special Christmas and I decided I would do everything in my power to make that happen.
So here we are. It is a bittersweet thing decorating this house this year. We only moved in 5 months ago and it is our first Christmas here, and it will likely be our only Christmas here at this house. My husband loved Christmas as much as I did and he was the Clark Griswold of every neighborhood we lived in. I know that he would be proud of me for decorating our house despite all that’s going on and that makes me happy. So welcome to our Christmas home!

You have such a beautiful home and I love your decorating style. Thanks for sharing your journey. Many blessings and prayers are prayed for you.
It looks stunning Cheyenne. You are an amazing person to push through the most difficult time in your life and give your sweet babies this gift for Christmas.
Beautiful!! I love that you used greenery everywhere. It gives pops of color without being over the top.
It looks stunning!!
Your home looks absolutely amazing! It’s beautiful!
This is beautiful! Your house looks amazing!!
Cheyenne that is beautiful I enjoyed seeing your home decorated especially the bells. Y’all have a Merry Christmas. I would never have the energy to do all that decorating.
Your house is so gorgeous! I love it all, but my three favourite features are the bells on the plates, the ladder with the wreath, and the furry cover on the piano. I kind of want one for my piano–it would be so comfy when I’m teaching lessons for hours.
Absolutely beautiful. I love all of the vintage pieces.
Cheyenne, you did such a great job! I’m in love with your entryway.
Cheyenne, your home looks so inviting and beautiful. Your husband must indeed be looking from heaven and so very proud of you for decorating the outside and inside of your gorgeous home, creating a magical space for your children to have Christmas.
Your home is so beautiful, Cheyenne! I love what you’ve done to make every room so festive. Especially the top of your piano! I love that collection of brass candlesticks. I can’t imagine what it’s like to go through this season without your husband. I am thinking of you and praying for you!
Cheyenne I just love all the changes you made in your dining room and all styled for Christmas it’s just beautiful! I love the wreaths on the sliding doors too. Thank you so much for organizing this wonderful home tour!
Your home looks beautiful! It gave me a lot of ideas! I was wondering, did you make or buy your Christmas village? I love it!
I made it! So easy. Just some 4X4s cut and painted.
Awesome! Thank you!
You’re home is so lovely, sending you prayers, I’m glad the home tour gave you something to focus on and that your children will find comfort in your strength.
Merry Christmas.
