Last Christmas I introduced a new tradition to my little family: the Kindness Elves. The concept is similar to Elf on the Shelf, but instead of “monitoring” my children’s behavior, the Kindness Elves arrive in the mornings during the Christmas season to encourage my kids to spread kindness and joy to those around them.
I was able to make our Elves myself using cute little ornaments from Target (they’re available again this year!). You can read my full tutorial post here.
The Kindness Elves were such a hit last year that they’re back again this year helping my kids spread kindness and joy! I’ve created a new calendar of activities that are totally toddler friendly.
It’s not too late to introduce your kids to your own Kindness Elves! Just grab some cute little “elves,” print out a note using the activities I’ve included in the calendar and you’re good to go. Have fun with it and don’t stress if you forget to move them around every night. Make this a fun tradition for you and your family, something that works for you!
Do you do Elf on the Shelf or the Kindness Elves? Is it a hit or miss for your kids?
Wonderful idea! We could all use a little more kindness every day. I applaud you for teaching your kids this important lesson and making it FUN!
