Hey y’all! Welcome to my blog!
I am Cheyenne. I am a lover of coffee, red wine, antique/vintage shopping and decor, good books and fall. I am the lucky wife of Garry, who loves me more than I deserve and makes me laugh on a daily basis. I am mama to one spunky, silly, crazy girl, Aislin, and my sweet, snuggly, funny little man, Hawkins. We live in a small suburb of Houston, called Kingwood, Texas. We love to play outside, take family adventures, have dance parties in the kitchen and sing really loud in the car.
Way back in 2008, I started this little space as a way for me to express myself creatively. I had just started practicing law two years before and I was beginning to feel less than fulfilled with my career choice. I needed an outlet, a place to explore my passions for home decor, DIY, and healthy living, while at the same time practicing my love of writing and photography. Thus, my little blog was created!
After my daughter was born in 2012, I became a full-time stay-at-home-mom. I am a card-carrying introvert so I thought staying home with my kids would be a piece of cake. Boy, was I wrong! Going from having a full-time job, an active social life (when I wanted one), and participating in all kinds of activities to being at home…alone…day in and day out…with a tiny blob who did nothing but scream at me (colic) all day was, to put it mildly, HARD. So hard, in fact, that it nearly broke me.
But God. Y’all. He is so good! He brought me through that hard, hard season of learning how to be a new mom, and He is teaching me every day how to be a woman who is NOT JUST a mom. Slowly, I am learning how to be a better wife, mom, sister, and friend. Every day I am learning how to balance building a business, designing a beautiful home, and pursuing my dreams with the important tasks of raising good kids, giving my husband the love and respect he deserves, and filling up my own soul so that I can continue to pour into others. Every day, I fail miserably at something and every day I am successful at something else. Finding balance is hard, but I am choosing to find joy in the journey!
So here, in my little corner of the world, is where I like to share my journey with you! Here is where you can come to see my latest DIY projects and follow along with my tutorials. Or perhaps (and I hope!) you will find some inspiration for creating your own beautiful home in your own beautiful way. You can also find me pouring out my heart about things like motherhood, parenting, or my attempts at living a healthy lifestyle (even if my kids sometimes survive on chicken nuggets and goldfish…hey, I’m not perfect!). But mostly I’m here because I love to share my passion for creating a home well loved and a life well lived.
Thanks for reading! Be blessed.
