You know I’ve never been a fan of yours. I would say “it’s not you, it’s me” but, let’s be honest, it really is you. You’re too hot, too muggy, too mosquito-y and I don’t really like summer fashion (not to mention bathing suits). And even though my kids aren’t in school yet, I really enjoy when other people’s kids go back to school because yikes teenage drivers and crazy full gym nurseries! So, I guess it goes without saying that I’m not sorry to see you go.
I will, however, give you credit for some pretty awesome memories from this year. My babies loved being at the beach and playing in the sand and waves. I will never forget the 4th of July fireworks that my husband and his dad set off just for my baby girl. I will cherish those sweet moments where my son and I floated in the cool water of the pool and just smiled at each other. So many memories this summer.
So for that I will thank you. You may always be my least favorite season of the four, but if you keep generating memories like the ones you gave me this year, I just might grow to like you a little (probably not, but I will definitely dislike you less).
See you next year,
