Before I had kids I would change the decor in my house every season. Every three months, I was pulling out Rubbermaid tubs full of seasonal decor and basically redecorating my house. Can you imagine? What kinda crazy person does that?
Me. And I loved it. Now that I have kiddos, though, ain’t nobody got time for that. So I’ve pared down my crazy seasonal decorating to make it manageable for a busy mom. Now I concentrate on just the main living areas and only do a few simple, key things that bring a bit of each season into our home so I still get to enjoy decorating but it doesn’t take away from chasing after my adorable tiny terrorists.
Now that it’s officially spring, I spent a quick nap time adding some things to springify (I know that’s not a word…it is now) our living room. I always add a bit of something to my mantle. I found this sweet little bunny garland at HomeGoods and knew I had to have it. I love all things white and distressed. Add bunnies and I’m all in. You can’t see it in the pic but I also added a couple of natural wood candlesticks and a small (faux) green plant to the top of the mantle. On the hearth I shoved several faux pink blossoms in my antique blue and white crock.
On my favorite chair next to our fireplace I added a sweet little DIY burlap bunny pillow (isn’t it the cutest?). On our bar I filled a couple of glass apothecary jars with the same pink blossoms that I put on the hearth. Then on my coffee table/ottoman I added some dainty white blooms to a plain white pitcher.
And that’s it! Really simple, really quick. It’s not nearly the kind of crazy redecorating I would’ve done in the past but it’s enough to bring a bit of spring into the home. And I love it!
What quick things do you do to add a bit of the season to your home? I’d love to hear your ideas!
